Miranda Kinney

Miranda’s roots in real estate go back to the eighth grade, when her family moved to Austin from a small East Texas town so that she could attend St. Stephens School.  Her mother, Teddy Kinney, a lifelong real estate investor, set out to learn the Austin real estate market through every means available:  visiting open houses, looking at new construction, lake lots, acreage and all things related to real estate. Most of the time, Miranda accompanied her on these quests.  Little did Miranda know then that she was sowing the seeds for a future career in real estate.

After earning a BA in Communications from St. Edwards University, Miranda worked as a college counselor in private technical schools.  This work provided her the opportunity to help students find the programs that best suited their goals and to offer them guidance along the way.  They came from every age group and every type of background, but they were all at pivotal moments in their lives when they were ready to make major changes.

Helping clients sell their homes or buy new ones brings her new opportunities to invest in other people’s goals and dreams and to help make them possible. Miranda has a unique ability to listen to what her clients are wanting to accomplish whether it’s assisting them in finding a first home, family home, investment property or if they are downsizing. Miranda understands the Austin market, she knows Austin and the surrounding areas and she is well connected throughout the real estate community.

When Miranda isn’t working with or for her clients she lives in Northwest Hills with her husband Jason McKnight and her two young daughters. Miranda enjoys spending time with her family and friends and she loves this wonderful city and the life that it affords us all.

Miranda was a consummate professional. She guided us through the process of selling our house quickly and efficiently. Miranda’s knowledge of our property and the market combined with her cane attention to detail got us a full price offer in the first three days. From there she handled all the details up through closing in under 30 days. We could not be more pleased, and it will most assuredly be contacting her about our next property.   -Brian Wann

Miranda was top notch all the way! She quickly understood what my husband and I were looking for and helped zero in on options in our price point without wasting our time. We had a short window to find a house, and Miranda hustled and delivered! She is extremely professional and also made the buying process very fun with her upbeat, outgoing personality. The house we bought had only been on the market a day or so and already had multiple offers. Miranda expertly negotiated a fair and competitive offer that got us the home we wanted! We both feel very grateful and lucky that we found Miranda at Realty Austin. We would recommend her 100% to anyone looking for a home in the Austin area. And we will definitely be calling her again for any future real estate needs.   -Annie and Robert Shepherd

Miranda Kinney is a bulldog who gets the job done. I used her guidance to locate and buy a house in July. She goes above and beyond to get the scoop, present options, and oversee the process. I have to mention, as well, her ethics. After representing me as “the buyer”, Miranda remained active and instrumental throughout my subsequent sale of my previous home. She is honest, realistic and, again, ethical in handling these complex, and at times stressful, transactions. Obviously, I don’t hesitate to call her for help.   -Joan G., Yelp Review

Miranda listened to what we wanted, came up with a strategy, clarified what needed fixing and what didn’t, helped manage contractors, and got the house looking great. We sold in one day, for significantly above asking price. When we bought, we were particular about what we wanted and where. Miranda didn’t waste our time. Together we found the perfect house and she hustled to make sure that not even a government shutdown kept us from getting it. Best of all, she’s from Austin, and has that great Texas gal charm.   -Adam and Heather G.

We were so fortunate to have picked Miranda to sell our home. She was extremely efficient, spot on with her advice and instincts throughout the entire process of selling our home. She coordinated reliable contractors, arranged an incredible photographer and marketed our home in a very short span of time. My husband was offered his dream job in Colorado and we needed to sell quickly. Miranda orchestrated all the details and set everything in motion faster than we thought possible. Miranda truly cares about her clients. She went out of her way to make sure our needs were met and the communication between us was always clear. She is an incredibly savvy sales person with expert knowledge about the Austin market. I highly recommend her. Also, she is fun to have around!
