Madge Darlington

Madge’s career in real estate supports her serious art habit. She’s a Co-Founding Artistic Director of Austin’s renowned experimental theater collective, Rude Mechs. Madge has produced, directed and toured with the Rudes for over 20 years.

Since 1985, Madge has travelled to over 25 countries, but has always come home to live within a two-mile radius of The University of Texas, where in the past she was an undergraduate, Program Coordinator for Shakespeare at Winedale, and grad student . Now a professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance, she bleeds Burnt Orange.

Madge currently lives in the Mueller Neighborhood, the premiere New Urbanist community on the site of Austin’s old airport. There she and her wife Lisa raised their children, Max and Milo, with the help of Barbara, Madge’s mom.

In 2009, Madge and Lisa sold their cottage in Cherrywood and realized the dream of buying a Mueller home to house their multigenerational family. Madge and her family depended on the integrity, knowledge, creativity and support of their real estate agent during this key life transition. That process opened Madge’s eyes to the fact that a good realtor is an agent of positive change. Now, as an agent with the Stiles Real Estate Agency, Madge looks forward to helping others achieve similar dreams. In particular, Madge loves working with first-time home buyers to help them navigate buying a home in Austin, the city she loves.
